Steam and Gas Compressor Stations in
Weston and Grantsville, West Virginia
Photographed in 1976
All are gone now. They were marvelous machines and structures and a tribute to the men who made and operated them, and to those who built America. Unfortunately, many of today's "smart" engineers and architects feel it is their duty to destroy the marvels of our past, even though these "antiques" would undoubtedly outlive their new replacements.
